Senior supplier
The senior supplier is a key role on the project board, representing the supplier community and overseeing the delivery of project products.
In some cases, the senior supplier also represents those responsible for maintaining the products after the project ends, such as engineering or support services.
Responsibilities
Senior suppliers ensure that enough resources and people from the supplier organization are committed to the project. The senior supplier is responsible for the quality of the products delivered and maintaining the technical integrity of the project.
The senior supplier works closely with the project manager, providing expert input on supplier-related decisions and ensuring that the project’s technical and quality requirements are met. The project manager relies on the senior supplier for guidance and support in delivering the project’s outputs as planned.
Number of senior suppliers
While more than one person may represent suppliers, it’s best to keep the number small to maintain the efficiency of the project board.
